How will Brexit impact Indiana?

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Will the British decision to leave the European Union have repercussions in Indiana?

An Indiana University finance professor says the answer is yes.

“It’s going to impact Indiana investors,” IU Kelley School of Business Associate Professor Catherin Bonser-Neal said. “So investors that have U.S. investments, global investments, you’re going to see your portfolios down. In terms of U.S. companies, the impact is not immediate. The impact will be determined by the extent of their business with the United Kingdom, how exposed they are to the change in the value of the dollar.”

She said Hoosiers shouldn’t panic and start selling during the down market.

Investors should give the markets time to sort themselves out before taking action.
