IFD moving forward with plans to combine stations
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Fire Department will consolidate four stations into two following more than 25 public meetings on the contentious issue.
In the next 30 days, IFD will move forward with plans to combine Broad Ripple stations 16 and 32, the department said Friday.
Plans will also move forward in the next 12 to 18 months to consolidate stations 52 and 54 and turn the current Station 54 into the IFD Fitness Center.
The Department of Metropolitan Development will gather input on the property at 5555 N. Illinois Street, which is currently home to Station 16. A community panel will then review proposals.
