Police asking public for help in identifying rape suspect

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police in Indianapolis are asking for help in identifying a man wanted for rape.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the victim was on an IndyGo bus on March 17 around 10:30 p.m. and fell asleep. A black male got on the bus at Ohio Street and Meridian Street. The bus stopped at East 30th Street and North Mitthoeffer Road.

When the victim woke she was not sure where she was. The male let the victim use his phone.

She told police that she was then rapped behind a dumpster at Bavarian Village and taken to an apartment to sleep. In the morning, she told the apartment office what happened and called police. The victim said that some of her items were missing, including her debit card. The card was used three times at a Citgo Gas station at 2935 North Mitthoeffer Road on March 18.
