Teacher Sale

Did you know? A recent survey found that teachers in the USA spend an average of $500 of their own money each year to supply their classroom. So, what is a new teacher – fresh out of college – to do when faced with the task of setting up their first classroom? Kori McCallie, Co-Owner, Here We Grow Again- Indy West, says once you land that first job, you can do a few things to determine what you need to spend money on and what you don’t:

1. Find what resources may be at your school or in your district.

2. Inventory your classroom.

3. Determine the administrator’s expectations for your classroom.

4. Decide your classroom layout

5. Prioritize and set a budget.

-New teachers can find what they need without breaking the bank at lots of places. One of the best is the Here We Grow Again Teacher Sale taking place July 8-9 at the Danville Middle School. There will be educational supplies being sold at a fraction of the original retail price. School teachers, home school families, day care providers, Sunday school teachers, and parents can all find educational items for their students. There will be tons of books, homeschool curriculum, manipulatives, flashcards, posters, art supplies, games, and so much more.
