The most patriotic companies in America

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Jane King at the Nasdaq has a look at the most patriotic companies in America.

For the Fourth of July, Brand Keys is out with its annual list of the brands consumers consider the most patriotic. There are also some familiar names still among those supporting the red, white and blue.

Disney joins Jeep to lead the parade, followed by Levi Strauss, Ralph Lauren and Ford.

The Founder and President of Brand Keys, Robert Passikoff said issues regarding “patriotism” have been raised to even higher levels of debate than usual, due in part to it being an election year.

Passikoff said companies like Disney, demonstrate courage, freedom of speech, liberty and a set of values. He said many brands like Jeep, do a good job of positioning itself of showing those values that people admire. He added that just wrapping your brand in the flag doesn’t cut it anymore.

He said real patriotism is quiet and a steady dedication of a lifetime’s work.

Election year and holiday’s like Independence Day, give marketers opportunities to help citizens celebrate and brands leverage those emotional values.

To come up with its ranking of patriotic brands, Brand Keys talked to 4,700 consumers, ages 16 to 65 and they were asked to identify which companies most resonated when it comes to patriotism.

98 percent of those surveyed thought Disney and Jeep fit the bill. Other companies moved up in the rankings, those were Starbucks, J Crew, Kraft, Nike and Old Navy.
