Fort Wayne police: Fight leads to shooting

 FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A man is in critical condition following a shooting Monday night on Euclid Avenue.

Fort Wayne police said at 11:59 p.m. they responded to the 4100 block on a report of a fight.

While police were en route, they were notified there was a shooting victim. They found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound when they arrived.

The victim was taken to a hospital in serious condition, but he was later downgraded to critical.

Preliminary information indicates a fight broke out near the front door of a home, according to Fort Wayne Police Department Public Information Officer Chris Felton. Shots were fired during the fight, which struck the victim inside the home, Felton said.

Police are investigating what led to the fight and shooting, including if the victim was the intended target or not. There’s no suspect information. Investigators are interviewing witnesses and neighbors while crime scene technicians are searching the scene for evidence.
