Fort Wayne’s Animal Care & Control takes in 99 lost pets over weekend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Fort Wayne’s Animal Care and Control shelter was flooded with nearly 100 lost pets over the weekend.

The shelter posted on its Facebook and Twitter pages Tuesday that almost 100 lost pets were collected over the Fourth of July weekend. Officials said Animal Care and Control took in 49 dogs, 43 dogs and seven rodents from Saturday through Monday.

Owners who lost their pets can walk through the shelter or visit Animal Care and Control’s website and click on the “Found pets” icon to search for it. Owners must ID the pet in person at the shelter.

The Animal Care and Control business office is open 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
