Indy Crit pedals through Indy this weekend

Ready, set… pedal!! Did you hear? The 7th annual Indy Criterium Bicycle Festival is taking place July 9 on Monument Circle. Indy Crit Founder Jennifer Cvar and bicyclist Ellie Dyas join Amber outside our studios to chat about the big race, how Ellie trains and how YOU can get involved, too!

ABOUT THE INDY CRITERIUM BICYCLE FESTIVAL

The Indy Criterium Bicycle Festival is the largest criterium race in the state of Indiana and one of the largest in the Midwest. More than 500 professional and amateur cyclists are expected to compete, drawing in crowds of nearly 10,000 to spectate throughout the day. In addition to the fast-paced racing action, spectators can take partake in food from a variety of local food vendors. There are many cycling-related activities throughout the day for spectators to enjoy or take part in including BMX stunt shows from X-games athletes, the PNC Kids Zone, a bicycle safety course for kids, face painting and balloon artists, and the Franciscan St. Francis Health Indy Crit Kick-Off Ride starting at 9:00am with a parade lap around the actual race course.

The Indy Criterium Bicycle Festival is one of the most hotly contested bicycle races in the Midwest, with hundreds of pro and amateur participants competing. The race will wind through an exciting 1-mile figure-8 course looping through the heart of downtown Indianapolis over the famous Monument Circle bricks.
