Pence: No offer yet from Trump for VP pick

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) – Indiana Governor Mike Pence may be on Donald Trump’s VP shortlist, but today he was focusing on his campaign for re-election.

The governor was in Franklin, where he stopped to talk with people he met on the street. Then he went inside Greek’s Pizzeria, where he again talked with Hoosiers who were enjoying a slice or two.

While he talked about his accomplishments in Indiana, he knows many are wondering if Donald Trump will make him the Vice Presidential pick.

“I know it’s not breaking news, but nobody’s called, nothing’s been offered, nothing’s been accepted, said Pence. “I think it’s truly important for every republican to get on board with Donald Trump. I truly do believe we need a new direction in Washington D.C.”

Speculation is that Pence is moving up the shortlist, after two of Trump’s potential picks took their names out of the running Wednesday.
