Woman killed in Madison County motorcycle wreck, driver of bike to be arrested

MADISON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) –  A woman was killed in an early morning Madison County wreck Sunday.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal crash happened at approximately 2:15 a.m. in the 2300 block of North State Road 67 in Madison County.

Deputies said the motorcycle being driven by 26-year-old Ali Hussaine A Albarbari was headed north on State Road 67 when it left west side of the roadway.

Both Albarbari and the passenger, 30-year-old Sarah Marie Smith, were thrown from the bike.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.  Albarbari left the crash scene and was later found at the victim’s mother’s Anderson home.

He was then taken to a nearby hospital in Anderson and is expected to be released Sunday.

Deputies said after his release from the hospital Alabrbari will face preliminary charges for leaving the scene of a fatality, driving while suspended and operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death.
