Man charged with attempted murder in shooting of wife
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An Indianapolis man has been charged with attempted murder after shooting his wife several times.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Senrita Evans was shot by her estranged husband, Robert Evans, at a bankruptcy law office in the 7300 block of North Keystone Avenue on Monday.
After the shooting, Evans fled the area but was soon apprehended by police about a mile from the scene.
Police said Senrita Evans did suffer multiple life-threatening injuries as a result of the shooting and is currently in the hospital in critical condition.
In addition to the attempted murder charge, Robert Evans has also been charged with carrying a handgun without a license.
Robert Evans remains in the Marion County Jail.
