Firefighter Tim shares farmers market recipes

We’re heating up the kitchen! Firefighter Tim is here to share a few farmers market recipes with us, including a healthy multi berry pie made with an almond flour crust and a berry sorbet. Tim also tells us about a cooking demo with Annessa at the Carmel Farmers Market on Saturday!Mixed berry Pie with almond flour crust:

Lower calorie dessert packed full of great antioxidants, and nutrientsCrust:

3 1/2 cups blanched almond flour (I like to grind it a little finer in food processor.)

1/2 cup canola oil

1/4 cup milk

Tsp. Salt

2 Tbs. stevia

Pie filling:

1 cup blueberries

1 cup raspberries

1 cup blackberries

1/2 cup sweet Cherries

Cup Stevia

2 tbs. corn starch

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place flour in pie pan or deep cast iron skillet. Next mix in Stevia and salt, with fork, then stir in milk and oil. Once mixture is pliable, use fingers to press to bottom and sides of pan. Take extra dough and place on wax paper. Place another wax paper on top and roll out for top of pie. Place all berries into mixing bowl sprinkle Stevia and corn starch in and mix together. Next pour bowl of berry mixture into pie dish. Place pie crust top onto pie and pinch side and crust together. Place pie into preheated oven for 1 hour.

Berry Banana sorbet with a hint of turmeric: 

This is a great dessert that is packed full of nutrients, antioxidants, potassium, and with the turmeric it helps with inflammation.Berry Banana turmeric sorbet:

1/2 to 1 frozen Banana

1/2 to 3/4 cup Frozen blueberries

1/4 to 1/2 cup Frozen blackberries/and or raspberries

One serving Turmeric

Splash lemon juice

Honey and Stevia to taste.

Directions:

Mix all ingredients into magic bullet or blender, blend until smooth serve and enjoy.
