Indiana sex offender arrested after playing Pokémon Go with minor

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A man is in custody after probation officers say he violated terms of his probation by playing Pokémon Go with a minor.

According to the Hancock County Probation Department, Randy Zuick is a registered sex offender. Online court records show he pleaded guilty to child molestation in May.

Wayne Addison, the chief probation officer in Hancock County, told 24-Hour News 8 that Zuick is not allowed to interact with children in person or online. Addison said Zuick isn’t allowed to be on any social media at all.

Hancock County probation officers noticed that Zuick was playing Pokemon Go with a minor on Wednesday. According to Addison, the minor told officers he didn’t know Zuick, but that he just came up and started playing with him.

A judge issued a warrant for Zuick’s arrest and deputies took him into custody. Zuick is currently in the Hancock County Jail.

He is expected in court Thursday.
