Blue awarded NFL’s ‘Mascot of the Year’

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One of Indianapolis’ favorite mascot is celebrating a big achievement on Friday. Blue, the official mascot of the Indianapolis Colts won the “Mascot of the Year” award.

The award is voted on by the NFL mascots. They are asked to pick the mascot who they felt has gone above and beyond in his field, and shows exemplary work over the past year.

Other awards this year included, the Lifetime Achievement Award, won by KC Wolf with the Kansas City Chiefs, Stunt of the Year, won by Toro with the Houston Texans, Video of the Year, won by Staley with the Chicago Bears and Skit of the year, won by Sir Purr with the Carolina Panthers.

The NFL mascots are in Indianapolis to participate in a Mascot vs. the PeeWee football players on Friday. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at Carmel High School.
