Former Hogsett press secretary facing charges in car kicking incident

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The now-former press secretary for Mayor Joe Hogsett has been charged in recent case.

Dan Goldblatt faces a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief after being accused of kicking a woman’s car.

On the afternoon of July 5, Shavon Wilson claimed Goldblatt crossed in front of her car while the traffic light was yellow, kicked her car then walked away.

Court documents said the confrontation happened at the intersection of East Washington Street and North Pennsylvania Avenue, with Wilson saying she will “call the police and he was going to jail” and Goldblatt replying, “like that will happen.”

Wilson caught video of Goldblatt, who was then identified by police.

Court documents state that the cost of the damage has been estimated at $4,000.

Goldblatt, who had been on administrative leave following the incident, submitted his resignation last week.
