Thousands without electricity after early morning storm

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Thousands are without electricity Monday morning in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Power and Light tweeted there were approximately 1,200 customers who remained affected by outages around 8:54 a.m.

The one place where 24-Hour News 8’s seen outages increase with IPL customers is in the Beech Grove and Franklin Township area in the southeast part of the city.

As for Duke, also restoring power over the last hour to more than 1,500 people. Their total number is now just over 2,400 and those are all over central Indiana, but mostly north of the city.
