2 dead, 5 injured in Decatur County crash

GREENSBURG, Ind. (WISH) — A five-year-old and a woman died in a three-vehicle crash that left five others seriously injured Friday night in Greensburg.

According to Indiana State Police, a Jeep Wrangler westbound on County Road 300 North near County Road 120 East hit a U-Haul car trailer towed by a Chevy Trailblazer heading east on the same road around 10:15 p.m. The Jeep driver lost control, skidding into the path of an eastbound pickup truck.

Truck passenger Shelina Robinson, 35, of Columbus was pronounced dead at the scene. Five-year-old Matthew Hahn Jr. of Greensburg, a passenger in the Jeep, was rushed to Riley Hospital for Children at IU health and later died of his injuries.

Three medical helicopters transported five other people — the Jeep driver and three passengers, as well as the truck driver — in serious condition. The Trailblazer’s sole occupant, 50-year-old Kenneth Bouge of New Castle, was not injured.

The driver of the Jeep, 25-year-year-old Matthew Hahn Sr. of Greensburg, was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital. Sixteen-year-old James Supler, also in the Jeep, was taken to Decatur County Hospital. Logan Debiase, 9, of Greensburg was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. Another passenger in the Jeep, 3-year-old Mataya Hahn, was also taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.

Forty-seven-year-old Terry Robinson, the driver of the truck, was taken to Decatur County Hospital.

None of the people in the Jeep or truck were wearing seat belts, according to state police.

Alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been involved. The crash remains under investigation.
