Indiana Historical Society opens new L. S. Ayres exhibit

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Urban department stores were a feature of late 19th and 20th century cities.  And L.S. Ayres was one of the most recognizable of the crop.

The Indiana Historical Society has brought back the iconic department store to life with a brand new exhibit.

Erin Becker, who is part of “You Are There: The Ayres Look”, stopped by Daybreak to talk about the new exhibit at the IHS.

Becker talked about the part she plays in the exhibit and what others characters and items patrons might see during a visit.
