Police searching for suspects after man shot outside home

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police are looking for at least two people who they say shot a man outside his home on the city’s far east side.

The shooting happened right next to his truck in the 3100 block of Cherry Lake Drive near 30th and German Church.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers said a man in his 30s and his wife were standing outside the truck when he was shot.

They aren’t saying where on his body he was shot, but they do believe it happened during some type of attempted robbery. Family members told 24-Hour News 8 on the scene that the victim was shot in the head and the suspects pistol whipped him.

The man was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Neighbors told 24-Hour News 8 they think they know who did it because they said there have been several disturbances in the last two weeks.

Those neighbors said they have been putting up cameras because of those past disturbances, and police said there is surveillance video and said this could give them a head start in the investigation.
