Covering Kids & Families of Central Indiana: Back to School

Let’s go “back to school” with “Covering Kids & Families of Central Indiana,” an outreach program designed to assist families with their Hoosier Healthwise and Healthy Indiana Plans. Director Pamela Humes describes the program and how this year’s event will help people all across the state.

• 16th Annual event and has served more than 100,000 children and families in that time frame

• Event is different from all of the other back to school events because we focus on the health of the child before going to school and everything is free

• CKF is an outreach program that assist families with finding health coverage for the entire family (Medicaid/Hoosier Healthwise, Health Advantage, Healthy Indiana Plan and Obamacare)

• Sponsors donate back packs and school supplies

• Marion County Public Health Department is another major sponsor and provide all school screenings for free only at event (Sports Physicals, Immunizations, Dental Screenings, Lead Testing, etc.) Dr. Tavel provides vision screenings.
