Indiana Democratic Party host DNC watch party

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indiana Democratic Party held a watch party Thursday night for the Democratic National Convention on the south side Indianapolis.

More than a hundred supporters packed Thunderbird in Fountain Square. They cheered as Chelsea Clinton took the stage to introduce her mom.

Hillary Clinton took the stage and talked about Donald Trump, jobs, equality, and what she would do for the American people if she’s elected to the Oval Office.

Supporters told 24-Hour News 8 they believe Clinton is the right person for the job. They hope her message will resonate with young voters.

“I’m hoping to hear a call to young people I think that’s kind of a misconception that millennials are not really interested in Hillary or not really connecting with her,” said Kate Wehby, Clinton supporter.

“I’m hoping to hear from Hillary the same thing that she’s been fighting for for her last 30 to 40 years,” said Keith Potts, Clinton supporter. “Fighting for children and families to give every child the opportunity to live up to their God given potential.”

Latest poll shows Donald Trump now trailing behind with Clinton with one point at 42 percent..

Supporters said they will continue with the campaign in Indiana to ensure a victory in November.
