BROWN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Opening statements are scheduled to begin Tuesday morning for the murder trial of Daniel Messel.

Messel is accused of killing 22-year-old Hanna Wilson from Fishers.

Lawyers narrowed down the jury to four men and eight women in court Monday afternoon.

The trial is starting after Messel’s attorney was given two delays.

Brown County Prosecutor Ted Adams promised there would be grizzly photographs shown during the trial, presumably of the crime scene.

Wilson was last seen by friends at Kilroy’s Sports Bar in Bloomington on April 24, 2015, according to court documents.

Friends told investigators that she got into a taxi around 1 a.m. Later that morning, her body was discovered off Plum Creek Road in Brown County. Her skull had been crushed, according to court documents. She died of blunt force trauma to the head, the coroner said.

The Messel trial resumes Tuesday morning at the Brown County Courthouse.
