Evan Bayh visits Indianapolis software company

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH/AP) – Former Indiana Governor and Senator Evan Bayh was in Indianapolis on Friday. Bayh toured the facilities of a software company in downtown.

Bayh said he wanted to highlight the importance of new tech companies coming to Indianapolis to bring jobs

Emarsys is a company providing software that allows business to market directly to their customers.

“Our people are hardworking and loyal. Increasingly the state, city, federal government are working together to make sure we have a workforce with the skills necessary for businesses like this to grow and expand and I want to do what I can to open the doors for more college education for people who want to be in tech to get the skills they need to get employed in businesses like Emarsys,” said Bayh.

In July, the Indiana Democratic state committee selected former U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh to be the party’s candidate for the Senate seat he gave up six years ago.

The committee met in private to elect Bayh over his only challenger, little-known perennial candidate Bob Kern of Indianapolis. The results of the vote were not released.
