Manager reports six cars stolen from Indianapolis car dealership

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Thieves targeted a local car dealership and it was all caught on camera.

It happened early Saturday morning at Cars R Us on Keystone Avenue and 46th Street.

“These guys are professionals. They know exactly what they’re doing. They must be stopped,” says Ray Kiswani, the general manager at Cars R Us.

Kiswani says he believes the suspects disabled the security system and broke the front window to get in.

Surveillance video shows two people going from office to office, looking through drawers and cabinets. The general manager says the suspects got their hands on around 50 different car keys. He told 24-Hour News 8 they then used those keys to drive six cars off the lot.

“This is life and bad things happen, you know. Nobody is immune to bad things. Anything can happen to anybody, but I did not expect something with this magnitude to happen,” says Kiswani.

Kiswani estimates the loss at around $100,000. He says the car lot has an extensive security camera system and he’s hoping that helps police as they work this case.

“I encourage everybody to install high definition systems only because when something like this happens, you want to be able to get a clear picture of people who do bad things,” says Kiswani.

Kiswani is hoping that video leads police to those responsible.

“These guys must be stopped, needless to say. You know this place feeds about 10 families and these guys are just messing and jeopardizing with the livelihood of these families,” says Kiswani.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating. If you have any information about this case, call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
