Manning at Hall of Fame: ‘To be here tonight, it’s just an honor’

CANTON, Ohio (WISH) — The 2016 Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony has a Colts theme to it. Marvin Harrison and former head coach Tony Dungy each were inducted and given their gold jackets and Hall of Fame busts.

Peyton Manning was in attendance tonight for the induction of his former head coach Tony Dungy and former wide receiver Marvin Harrison. Harrison and Manning will be forever linked for hooking up for an NFL quarterback-to-wide reciever record of 114 touchdowns over their careers together.

“I leaned on Marvin Harrison early and never stopped leaning on him. It’s been really fun going down memory lane over these last few months,” said Manning.

Both Harrison and Manning helped Tony Dungy and the Colts win Super Bowl XLI. That Super Bowl came Feb. 4, 2007, when the Colts defeated the Chicago Bears 29-17. Harrison had five receptions for 59 yards in the Colts victory.

“It’s not normal, I think I speak for most of the players when we realize now that it’s not normal. That wasn’t normal how special of a coach Tony Dungy was and how special Marvin Harrison was,” said Manning.

The Colts and Packers will conclude Hall of Fame weekend Sunday night when the play in the NFL’s first preseason game of the season.
