Woman ‘squirted’ by breastfeeding mother after making complaint

DARTFORD, UK (WCMH) – Reports of a woman claiming she was squirted with breast milk after she complained about a mother who was breastfeeding in public has sparked an international debate over where women should breastfeed their children.

The post was first reported by The Daily Mail. It cited a Facebook post where a woman claims she was walking through a park in Dartford, Kent with her husband and son when she spotted the breastfeeding woman. The woman then allegedly asked the mother to go someplace place private.

“To the lady in Dartford Park who thought it was appropriate to breastfeed her baby whilst my child and very easily distracted husband sat nearby,” the post on a Facebook group reads. “I don’t think it was necessary for you to react the way you did just because I asked you to go somewhere private. Squirting me with your boobs was incredibly uncalled for. I hope you are ashamed of yourself.”

The story quickly sparked a debate on social media. Many users quickly pointed out the woman is likely in the wrong. England passed the Equality Act 2010 which makes it illegal for anyone to ask a breastfeeding woman to leave a public place.

Others seem to think the whole thing is a hoax. The Huffington Post’s UK division found one man on Facebook who is now claiming he’s the one behind the post, claiming he made the story up simply to shame the media.
