Broad Ripple celebrating Indiana’s 200th birthday with start of 4-day festival

BROAD RIPPLE, Ind. (WISH) – Broad Ripple is celebrating Indiana’s 200th birthday with the start of a four-day festival.

The festival is Thursday, August 11 through Sunday, August 14.

Officials said the festival will have carnival rides and games, food, drinks and live entertainment during the celebration of Indiana’s history.Festival Hours:Thursday, August 11 – 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Sunday, August 14 – 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (will feature Vintage Market)

In addition, admission to the event is free for all-ages, but carnival rides and games, food and drink are not.Ride costs:

  • Tickets: $1.50/piece
  • Rides are 1-2 tickets

Wristbands and unlimited rides:

  • Thursday, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. – $15/piece
  • Friday, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. – $20/piece
  • Saturday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. – $15/piece
  • Saturday, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. – $20/piece
  • Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – $15/piece

Event and Parking: 

  • Walk or bike – Approximately .5 miles from Monon Trail and Central Canal Towpath
  • Bus – IndyGo Route 17 services Broad Ripple Village and Broad Ripple Park
  • Car – Park in the neighborhood surrounding the park; unlimited number of spaces at Broad Ripple Park reserved for handicap and Dog Park and Family Center

  • Small coolers (must have concealed food/water)
  • Baby strollers
  • Bikes
  • Dogs

What you can’t bring:

  • Weapons
  • Fireworks or explosives
  • Outside beer, wine, or liquor
  • Illegal substances
  • Unauthorized/unlicensed vendors
  • Unauthorized solicitations, handbills, sampling, give-a-ways, sales, etc.
