Officer arrested after attempting to smuggle contraband into facility
PENDLETON, Ind. (WISH) – A Correctional Industrial Facility Corrections Officer was arrested after he attempted to smuggle contraband into the facility.
According to police, Mark Wooten of Westfield was arrested after he tried to smuggle contraband into the facility to traffic with an offender.
Wooten faces one count of trafficking in a controlled substance with an inmate, and one county of possession of a controlled substance.
Police said after a consented search, officers found 200 strips of suboxone with an estimated value of over $20,000.
