Art contest recognizes, celebrates Indiana’s history

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – In 2016, Indiana celebrates 200 years of statehood and WISH-TV has shared several stories about Indiana’s history.

Cristina Tuttle and R. Lloyd Brooks stopped by Daybreak to talk about a mural design competition and the winning design of a contest meant to embody central Indiana.

The artist of the winning design, Tuttle, talked about what inspired her creation, what she hoped to convey with her work and how she thinks her mural will impact the community.

Brooks talked about what inspired the contest, and why judges ultimately decided upon Tuttle’s design.

Tuttle’s work of art will be recognized on September 18 at the city of Columbus’s Bicentennial Celebration.
