Johnson Co. death investigation underway after two found in truck

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A death investigation is underway in Johnson County after two people were found dead in a truck Saturday morning.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation started after an individual deer watching came across a pick-up truck with two people laying in the bed of the truck just after 7 a.m. on County Road 550 South, and west of Schoollhouse Road in Atterbury.

Deputies said after the man noticed man and the woman he began yelling at them.  When they did not respond, he got out of his vehicle, walked over to the car and then that is when he noticed blood and called emergency crews.

After crews arrived on scene, the man and the woman were pronounced dead.

Police have named the two deceased as 36-year-old Jonie Snider and 51-year-old Gregory Mccrary.

The case remains under investigation.  Deputies have said they are not searching for a suspect.

Deputies did say that there appears to be no reason for the public to be concerned.
