Man accused of urinating on a police officer in South Carolina

UNION, S.C. (WSPA) – Union Police in South Carolina arrested a DUI suspect after they say the man urinated on an officer.

Rick Anderson Bell was charged with throwing of bodily fluids by Union Police on Sunday according to an arrest warrant.

An officer was called to Lee Street around 3:15 a.m. Sunday because of a reported collision. The incident report states Bell was at the scene and smelled of alcohol, then admitted to have been drinking when questioned.

The officer says Bell became belligerent and refused to take field sobriety tests by saying ‘just take him on to jail.”

Bell was taken to Union Public Safety headquarters where he was to take a breathalyzer test. Bell again became belligerent to police and insisted he had to go to the restroom.

The incident report says Bell then stood up from a chair, unzipped his shorts and urinated on the officer. He later refused to take the breathalyzer test.

Bell was charged with DUI and driving under suspension in addition to the throwing bodily fluids charge from Union Police.
