Plainfield police investigating death of 16-month-old

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — The Plainfield Police Department is investigating the death of a 16-month-old child.

Details were limited from Plainfield police, stating that the child was found unresponsive last Monday before passing away on Thursday.

The Indiana Family & Social Services Administration confirmed that a child had died following an incident at a home daycare in the 1100 block of Hadley Road in Plainfield. A letter obtained by 24-Hour News 8 stated that several complaints had been made about the daycare operating illegally.

Investigators with the Plainfield Police Department released this statement:

We are investigating the death of a 16-month-old child. The child was found unresponsive late Monday morning, transported to the hospital, and subsequently died on Thursday evening. This is currently an active investigation and no further information can be released at this time.”
