Butler University to create Joel Cornette Scholarship Fund

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A new scholarship fund will honor a former member of the Butler Bulldogs basketball team.

Butler and the Cornette family have joined together to create a scholarship fund in the name of former basketball star, Joel Cornette.

The scholarship will provide support for future students of the university.

Any donations to the scholarship can be made here.

Cornette played for the Butler basketball team from 1999-2003, providing key contributions to the Bulldog’s first Sweet Sixteen team in 2003.

There will also be a celebration of Cornette’s life held at Hinkle Fieldhouse at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 22.
