Man out on parole arrested for dealing drugs

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said a man out on federal parole for dealing drugs has been arrested for dealing and possession of drugs.

IMPD said a large amount of drugs and related paraphernalia were found on Wednesday morning in the apartment of 34-year-old Devan Pierson.

The IMPD SWAT team searched his apartment after obtaining a search warrant.

Among the findings were:

  • one ounce of cocaine
  • four ounces of heroin
  • five ounces of meth
  • two drug presses

Police also found $484 in cash and a .45 caliber handgun in the apartment, where Pierson was also present during the search.

Detectives found an additional .45 caliber handgun in the vehicle of Pierson.

Pierson, who had already been on parole for dealing cocaine, was arrested for dealing and possession of cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine. He also faces preliminary charges of maintaining a common nuisance and being a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm.
