Court docs: Man, 42, had sex with 12-year-old

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A 42-year-old Fort Wayne man has been charged after police said he had sex with a 12-year-old girl several times.

Jason A. Tuttle faces four counts of child molesting as a level 1 felony and another count of child molesting as a level 4 felony, as well as level 5 felony child seduction and level 6 felony dissemination of matter harmful to minors. He will be formally arraigned in Allen Superior Court on Tuesday.

According to a probable cause affidavit, police were called about Tuttle on Aug. 4 after a couple that Tuttle had been staying with said they’d found a Facebook conversation between him and a 12-year-old girl on a computer in the home. In the conversation, Tuttle asked the girl to meet him for “sexual relations,” and when the girl said he she was 12 years old, he simply sent her a photograph of his penis, the affidavit said.

In an interview with police, the girl said Tuttle contacted her through Facebook. She knew him because he’d dated her mother when she was four years old, the girl told police, according to the affidavit.

The girl told police that Tuttle had sex with her several times, and performed other sexual acts, the affidavit said.

In an interview with police, Tuttle first denied messaging the girl on Facebook, but later admitted to communicating with her on the social media site. He denied having sex or kissing or fondling her, though, according to the affidavit.

This is not Tuttle’s first run-in with police.

Tuttle pleaded guilty to a charge of voluntary manslaughter in July 1994 and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He was set to be released in July 2005, but he was also sentenced in 1996 to 9 years, 11 months in prison for an armed robbery in Steuben County and was released in March 2009.
