Boy flown to hospital after suffering head injury from abuse

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — A 4-year-old boy was flown to Riley Hospital for Children after police say he suffered head injuries due to child abuse.

The Bloomington Police Department has arrested 25-year-old Cody J. Wasley in connection to the incident, where he has initially been charged with a felony battery charge on a minor younger than 14.

According to BPD, Wasley has denied striking the boy, instead telling authorities that the child slipped and fell on a wet kitchen floor.

Updates on the child’s condition haven’t yet been made available by the hospital.
