Indiana governor candidates to discuss farm issues at forum

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (AP) – Agricultural issues will be up for discussion during a forum involving the candidates to become Indiana’s next governor.

Republican Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb, Democratic candidate John Gregg and Libertarian Rex Bell are all scheduled to take part in Tuesday’s forum sponsored by Indiana Farm Bureau.

The event at a farm near the Indianapolis suburb of Brownsburg will have the three candidates taking questions separately for a half hour each.

Gregg has been criticizing Indiana’s economic performance under Republican Gov. Mike Pence and describes Holcomb as Pence’s hand-picked replacement since Pence dropped his re-election bid to become Donald Trump’s running mate.

Holcomb says he’s proud of the state’s achievements during the past 12 years of Republican governors.
