Indiana’s unemployment rate falls

(WISH) — Indiana’s unemployment rate has been going down, and first time homebuyers will now get some of the best deals in the state.

Indiana’s jobless rate has fallen .02 percent for the second straight month.

The State Department of Workforce Development said that jobs in Indiana have been gained increasingly over the past three years.

Indiana is now tied with Texas for the 23rd lowest unemployment rate in the country. The state unemployment rate of 4.6 percent is .3 percentage points lower than the national jobless rate of 4.9 percent.

In other business headlines, Indianapolis now ranks as a top city for first time homebuyers, which ranks as third best in the nation.

The report shows that the $69 average price per square foot of the home in Alamo City was affordable enough for people who make the average income.

Nearly 80 percent of those who apply for home loans in Indianapolis get financing.
