Indy cleans up after Friday storms

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Heavy rain and torrential rain Friday left many Indianapolis neighborhoods with a big mess Saturday.

More than two inches of rain fell in parts of the city Friday over just a few hours.

Water rose above car tires at the Castleton Square Mall parking lot.

Earlier in the day, strong winds took down trees in Broad Ripple, the Glendale neighborhood and parts of the northeast side.

Nearly 6,500 Indy residents remained without power Saturday afternoon.

The National Weather Service reported 60 mph winds and quarter size hail swept through the city Friday evening.
