GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Lou Musa, the lead guitarist of the band, The Verve Pipe, was hospitalized after he was struck by a car in Grand Rapids, the group announced.

According to the group’s Facebook page, Musa was struck by the car near his home Friday while out for a run. The group said in the post that he was taken to the hospital for observation, but is expected to recover fully.

The group said it was forced to cancel their appearance at the East Coast Surfing Championship in Virginia Beach. That appearance was scheduled for Saturday.

The group explained in the post, “Without Lou, there’s simply no TVP. We appreciate everyone’s support and understanding and look forward to getting back to Virginia soon. Friends, please post a comment wishing him a speedy recovery and back on his feet and “shredding” as soon as possible!”
