(WISH) – Drone operators could outnumber aircraft pilots in one year, and California bans ITT Tech from enrolling new students.

The rush to fly the drones isn’t just for the novelty, it’s opening the door for new business possibilities for companies and entrepreneurs alike.

Bloomberg reports that with more than 3,300 people signed up to take the test, the FAA estimate that drone pilots could outnumber the 171,000 private pilots currently licensed to fly in the U.S. within a year.

In other business headlines, a day after federal regulators barred Carmel based ITT education services from enrolling new students using financial aid at its ITT technical campuses, a California regulator prohibited the education operator from enrolling all new students at its 15 schools in the state.

The Bureau said it issued the order because the Doe’s action last week raised “Grave concerns about the continued financial viability of ITT.’
