INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s Chief, Troy Riggs and officers from the downtown district took a bike ride on the Cultural Trail Wednesday.

During the bike ride, they stopped to meet with business owners in the Mass Avenue entertainment zone.

The ride began at 10 a.m. at the City County building on Washington Street.

Chief Riggs led the group through downtown and then up the Monon Trail to Broad Ripple.

“We can only be as successful as the relationship we have with the community,” Chief Riggs said. “Going for a run out on the canal with our recruits, being out on a bike, going out on a patrol is extremely successful for long term success in fighting crime in our community.”
