The deadly shooting occurred just after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at a Shell gas station at East 34th Street and North Sherman Drive.

Officers initially responded after hearing gunshots in the area.

After arriving on scene, police discovered a 29-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Michael Johnson of Indianapolis.

Police say Holder shot the victim after the victim robbed him.

“They’re sitting out here just killing each other for what. It doesn’t get you anywhere. It just hurts the next family… to the next family getting hurt that’s all it is,” said Tonya Lacy.

Lacy says she is a cousin of the victim.

Police have not yet released the victim’s identity.  At this time they are unsure if the fatal shooting was captured on the gas station’s surveillance cameras.
