Center Grove High School evacuated after small fire

GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — Center Grove High School students and staff were evacuated due to a fire Thursday afternoon.

A small fire broke out in a pottery kiln in the school’s art department around 1:30 p.m., superintendent Rich Arkanoff said in a media release.

Students were evacuated to the football stadium while firefighters ventilated the building. No one was injured.

Students were allowed back in the school for regular dismissal.

All student after-school activities will take place as scheduled, Arkanoff said. But a parent/teacher conference set for Thursday evening has been canceled.
