Community gathers for walk to fight against heroin

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Dozens of people filled the streets for a walk against heroin on Thursday evening.

The walk took place at East and Orange streets for International Overdose Awareness Day.

Several who attended the event say they’ve lost friends and family members to the drug. There were even kids in the crowd who lost their parents to overdoses.

The group is hoping to send a message to the community that help is available for those struggling with addiction.

They’re also hoping police are able to crack down on those dealing drugs and get them behind bars.
