4 Aurora theater shooting survivors to pay $700K to theater

AURORA, Colorado (KRON) – Four survivors of the Colorado movie theater massacre have been ordered to pay the movie theater chain thousands of dollars.

The deadly shooting was in 2012. The shooter, James Holmes, opened fire inside the Century Aurora Multiplex.

Twelve people were killed and 70 others were injured.

More than two dozen survivors sued the theater’s owner, Cinemark, claiming it did not have enough security measures in place to prevent the shooting.

But in May, a jury ruled Cinemark was not liable for the shooting and most of the survivors instead took a small settlement.

But four of them refused.

So now, a judge has ordered those four to pay the third largest theater chain in the country $700,000 for legal bills.
