Armed man who prompted Ball State alert barred from campus
MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) — Two people who prompted a shelter in place alert at Ball State University on Thursday have been questioned, released and barred from campus.
A university official says a 20-year-old man with a carry permit had a holstered gun when someone reported him to police, prompting evacuations and a two-hour campus search.
A male juvenile accompanying him was unarmed.
Both were questioned and released by police Friday after they were informed of the school’s no-weapon policy.
They have been barred from campus, but no charges will be filed.
Neither are students at Ball State.
