INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis neighborhood marked 300 days without a homicide on Friday.
The Ten Point Coalition hosted a celebration to mark the milestone in Crown Hill.
Crown Hill is one of three neighborhoods that Ten Point patrols, along with the United Northwest Area and Butler-Tarkington.
Rev. Charles Harrison with Ten Point says all three neighborhoods have gone at least 10 months without a youth homicide.
“We are really excited about that, and it really shows what can be done with collaboration,” Harrison said. “There is no one group, no one agency that can curb the violence by themselves.”
Harrison added that Crown Point was listed as the 17th most dangerous neighborhood in the nation just three years ago.
