IRS warns possible delay of 2017 tax refunds

(WISH) – The IRS is giving taxpayers a heads up that there may be a delay in your 2017 tax refund.

The agency said a new tax law will require it to hold refunds until at least mid-February.

It applies to filers claiming the earned income tax credit and additional child tax credit.

The IRS said extra steps to check for identity theft in returns could result in a slight delay.CNN contributed to this report.
