Downtown flag display honors military, first responders

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — American flags are on display in downtown Indianapolis for a special cause this week.

As part of Flags for Honor, Hoosiers were given the opportunity to sponsor a flag for someone they care about in the military or even an emergency responder.

This is the second year organizer Beth Carr has conducted the program. She says those taking part are grateful for a chance to show their appreciation.

The flags are on display at Veteran’s Plaza until next Sunday, Sept. 11, in honor of the 15th anniversary of 9/11.

Proceeds will benefit the Indianapolis Police Foundation.
